The Recognized Sponsor Requirement

To work as a highly skilled migrant, your employer must be a recognised sponsor approved by the IND. Only companies listed in the official “Public Register Regular Labour and Highly Skilled Migrants” have the legal authority to apply for your residence permit. Verify an employer’s status in this register (which includes thousands of companies such as ASML, Adyen, and Booking.com) before beginning the application process.

Excluded: Holiday allowance, wages paid in kind, and uncertain or irregular pay elements such as overtime, tips, or bonus funds.

I had no idea which companies could even sponsor me. Within a week of using HSM Jobs, I had three interviews at IND-recognised companies. The CV rewrite was the game-changer.

Find out if your idea works — before it costs you your permit.

Most HSM holders have ideas they've quietly shelved — a consulting side project, a product, a freelance practice. The Ecosystem Navigator tells you whether yours is viable, legal under your HSM status, and how it would score with the RVO if you ever want to make the leap to self-employment.

Permit-safe from the first question
Know immediately whether your idea is compatible with your HSM status, what side-income rules apply, and what a ZZP transition would actually require.
Dutch market reality, not generic startup advice
KVK costs, Dutch market sizing, ZZP tax implications, and NL demand signals — grounded in the actual market you'd be entering.
DAFT pathway score included
If you're thinking about transitioning to full self-employment, the navigator scores your idea against RVO Annex 8a criteria so you know where you stand before you apply.
